Over 500 participants at EEFLisbon2019 - Embedding Ecology in Sustainable Development Goals

As the deadlines for the targets set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program are getting closer and closer, as well as the shift of paradigms to the new time scales of 2030 and 2050, it is crucial to look at the current scenario and understand what we have and haven’t achieved so far. This is the only possible way to delineate new realistic objectives, that consider the transversal contributions of the various areas of knowledge in the listed goals.

During the first day of EEFLisbon2019, we had a debate dedicated to the role of ecologists on the sustainable development goals. The discussion created the basis for the moderator to resume all the main ideas and to produce the attached document. It aims to be a fundamental deontological document to guide the professional activity of ecologists and their relationship with society.

No mês de setembro parta à descoberta da fauna e flora, que habitam em diversos espaços verdes municipais. O Município de Oeiras está a promover um conjunto de visitas guiadas, gratuitas, para observação da fauna (aves, insetos, mamíferos, anfíbios e repteis) e flora que habitam em diversos espaços verdes municipais. Esta é uma excelente oportunidade para conhecer a biodiversidade destes locais. Estes percursos têm acompanhamento técnico pelo biólogo Diogo Oliveira.
