The AAET is a scientific NGO, SPECO's congener in Spain, whose main objective is to promote scientific research in Ecology.
The Iberian Ecology Meetings are jointly organized by SPECO and AEET, since 2000.

The European Ecological Federation is the umbrella organization representing the Ecological Societies within Europe. It enables cooperation between the member organizations in order to promote the science of ecology in Europe.

The International Long-Term Ecological Research (ILTER) consists of networks of scientists engaged in long-term, site-based ecological and socio-ecological research.
SPECO is a member of ILTER and was responsible for the network’s implementation in Portugal.
